26th Annual Colorado Gold Writing Contest 2009


For unpublished writers of COMMERCIAL novel-length fiction.

Here's your chance to get your novel in the hands of an acquiring agent or editor.

Submit the first twenty pages of your manuscript and an eight-page synopsis. Two RMFW judges will evaluate and score each entry. The FIVE highest-scoring submissions in each genre category will make the finals and then be judged by an agent or editor who acquires in that genre. They will pick one winner in each category. The winner receives $100.00 and a certificate. The remaining finalists will receive $25.00 and a certificate. Winners will be announced at the Colorado Gold Conference September 11-13 at Renaissance Denver Hotel in Denver, Colorado.

Deadline - Entries are limited to the first 200 received.  Entries will NOT be accepted until April 1, 2010, and must be emailed no later than June 1, 2010.  NO MAIL-IN SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. 

Eligibility - You must NOT have had any novel-length fiction accepted for publication at the time you enter this contest.  Entries that have previously won this contest are ineligible. This contest focuses on COMMERCIAL novels; literary fiction is discouraged; short stories, experimental fiction, and non-fiction are ineligible. Entrants must sign a liability statement on the entry form.

Submissions are limited to a total of 200.
